Political Challenges to NanoWriMo

This week really and truly kicked my butt. Working a polling place is exhausting when you are doing the simplest job. It is just a long day. Now that I have moved, I have to leave the house at 5:30 to get to the polling place at 6:30. Training as a warden meant that I was dealing with folks who were bewildered and defensive even if returning the city census is typically difficult for a large portion of residents. The neighborhood I was working in is made up of a large portion of 20-30 somethings educated, and engaged. We're all on edge expecting something untoward to happen at a polling place. Not on my watch!

Wednesday wasn't really a recovery day.

Thursday there was the emergency action because Trump fired Sessions, and Friday I developed a cough. I left work early, caught up on sleep and gave up on my goal of updating everyday. So I'm about 10,000 words behind as of today. Around 6:00 I felt my brain kick into gear. I got maybe 600 words down today. It isn't going to catch me up to the big goal, but I am writing.

I still have two days of a weekend, and nothing on the books except workout tomorrow, and cooking.
